I really love seeing all my work framed in this ‘gun metal’ grey. Anthony Coe at The John Russell Gallery has been working on these for the last month. They are beautifully done.
Sealed with a kiss 30 x 30 cm Paper collage and acrylic on wooden panel
I have been grounded since October! Very little socialising or travel – unless you count the walking up and down the garden to my studio. the grass has turned to mud and there is a long paper trail to the back door, although I have loved the discipline of a deadline and challenging myself to working on a bigger scale, introducing soft greys, rusty oranges and dirty yellows to my work.
The theme that reoccurs is the urban shoreline of boats, harbours, docklands.
Cranes, diggers and docks are appearing in my work, I am drawn to the soaring angles, bright paint and balletic balance of these immense, towering structures. So much demolition and rebuilding is going on around the station and city centre of Cambridge, I am often seen gazing at the cranes like a child in front of a Christmas tree!
Not many postings recently…I have my head down working for my first solo show at The John Russell Gallery in Ipswich in March
