Last days in the BIG Barn. Am I talking to myself

Last days in the BIG Barn.
Am I talking to myself? My passing film crew? To my papers I think!

This work is not complete, they are just beginnings, to be developed much more, back in my 8 by 16 ft studio.
Meanwhile I will keep up my search for a big studio near Cambridge.

Thankfully years of Iyengar yoga keep my agile AND I joined Richard for a 20 mile bike ride on the tops of Sutton Bank for a day off! 😳😵‍💫

You will also see some fancy footwork- I’ve heard that there is an app that gets the same results hmmm.

Day 2 and just look at how the collages developed!! What a great group of open minded creative artists all ready to see ‘What if?’ 😍

They ran with it, explored and surprised themselves. I love teaching like this - when students do not have an end result in mind, they are just totally absorbed in the process and love of paper collage.

Every year I teach a workshop @lundstudios What a wonderful place to work!

This year we moved from the studio to the barn, to go BiG! As the size of my own work increases and I feel the need for more space I knew that that others would be ready to come on my collage journey with me.

I am so excited by what we achieved in day one - everyone making their own marks with sensitivity and expression. Day two - let’s collage! 🕺😍

I just wanted to show the different sizes of my collage assemblages. The larger ones are around 1m and the smaller around 30cm. The smaller ones are beautifully tray framed in white.

I can’t wait to see them on the walls of the @andgallery_ this weekend. I invite you to join me at the private view 2-4pm this Saturday 5th July.

I am captivated by the accidental marks and practical fixings left behind over time. Materials once used to decorate, protect, repair, or conceal become part of a visual narrative. Imperfections – scratches, stains, remnant, drips and patterns – are embraced and transformed into rich painterly vocabulary allowing each surface to tell its own evolving story.
